Highlights: This 14-night Star Clipper voyage begins in Bridgetown, Barbados, where the island's wild Atlantic-facing east coast gives way to a town full of colonial contrasts — cricket, high tea, and even a stopover once made by George Washington. From there, guests reach the Tobago Cays, a nearly deserted national park cluster prized for exceptional snorkeling, before continuing to Grenada, the "Spice Isle," where the scent of nutmeg and cinnamon drifts through St. George's and a hand-carved 1895 tunnel leads to sweeping harbor views. After days at sea under full sail, the route reaches Bonaire, famous for its pink flamingos and some of the Caribbean's best diving, then Curaçao's Dutch-colonial Willemstad with its gabled waterfront and floating produce market, and Aruba, where desert-like terrain meets postcard beaches. The ship then crosses to Colombia, stopping first in Santa Marta — the country's oldest city, backed by the Sierra Nevada mountains and gateway to Tayrona National Park — and then UNESCO-listed Cartagena, known for its 17th-century fortifications built to fend off pirates. The voyage's centerpiece follows: a stop at Panama's remote San Blas Archipelago, home to the indigenous Kuna people and their intricately appliquéd mola textiles, followed by a full transit of the Panama Canal itself, watching the ship rise and fall through the locks that link the Atlantic and Pacific. The sailing concludes in Balboa, the Canal's Pacific-side terminus, lined with yachts from around the world.
