The start of our World Cruise is always a moment for fanfare, but in 2029 it will be even more of an occasion as it will mark the first time that they have launched a world cruise from a port outside of the U.S. The location? The buzzy, cosmopolitan city of Melbourne, which leads us to another first: their inaugural circumnavigation of Australia. After a month discovering the astonishing diversity of this island continent, with a brief dip into Indonesia, we then head into the wild blue yonder, weaving through the fabled South Sea islands to the western coast of Chile. Down they go, through the Chilean Fjords, to the so-called end of the world at Ushuaia, Argentina. Then, rounding South America’s tip, we head north to Uruguay and trace the entire coastline of Brazil, turning inwards to pause in the green heart of the Amazon. North, now, hopping through the palm-fringed islands of the Caribbean to mainland USA, where they make landfall at Fort Lauderdale (where you have the option to debark). The glittering lights of New York are next, our journey’s end for most. Thirsty for more adventure? Stay on board as we travel up the east coast to Canada, before a transatlantic crossing takes us to Ireland and then to Portsmouth, UK.
