From week-long round trips to longer escapes, a Norwegian voyage on Cunard unlocks the mystery of Norway’s spellbinding Fjords, enhancing every second you spend in this majestic wilderness.
A Fjords voyage is to venture into another land. Dreamlike and otherworldly, this is the terrain where Vikings once roamed. A land of folklore and legend, unchanged by time. Where wild waterfalls cascade down moss covered cliffs and luminous lakes shine a radiant shade of blue.
Seventy miles from the sea, on the Elbe River in northern Germany, Hamburg is the second largest port city in Europe and one of Germany’s most cosmopolitan, dynamic and fascinating destinations. The city has some 2,000 plus bridges—more than Venice and Amsterdam combined, earning Hamburg the moniker the ‘Venice of the North’. As well as exploring the city’s highlights, including its neo-renaissance and baroque architecture, Museum of Fine Arts and redbrick warehouse district, you can travel to attractive World Heritage city of Lübeck. Sample the famous Niederegger marzipan and explore Lübeck’s Old Town, where gabled houses and ancient churches span over 100 hectares.
At the end of Aurlandsfjord – a branch of the vast Sognefjord – sits Flaam, a village known for its spellbinding location amongst Norway’s piercing blue fjords and sweeping mountains. A stop here is the perfect opportunity to ride the historic Flaam railway, which enthralls visitors with unadulterated views of Flaam’s scenery and offers the perfect way to appreciate this port call in all its splendor. Alternatively, seek out an authentic Norwegian sweater in Flaam’s shops or head to one of its friendly microbreweries for a locally brewed beer. There are many surprises to be found in Flaam; from museums that celebrate the region’s culture to countless picturesque hiking trails.
The stunning Aurlandsfjord is one of the most picturesque fjords in the world. It is part of the World Heritage region surrounding the Nærøyfjord and the world’s second-longest fjord, the Sognefjord. The fjord, in Aurland, is 10 miles long and flanked by beautiful snow-topped mountains which stretch from Flåm to Mount Beitelen at the entrance to Nærøyfjord. It is a sight to behold.
Here is your chance to experience this unique World Heritage Site of Sognefjord, sailing the same waters of Norse and Viking legends. This is also the opportunity to explore the many natural wonders while ashore. Take a walking trail at your own pace, you’re never far from a memorable sight or place of interest, or choose from a selection of boat trips that take you to the islands in the fjord’s tributaries.

Queen Mary 2 is a remarkable flagship, and her style and elegance are legendary. Above all, it‘s the space she offers and the luxury for you to do as little or as much as you wish which set her apart.
With time at sea the choice, as always with Cunard, is yours. There is as much or as little to do as you please, with more possibilities than you have time to discover.
When evening falls, the curtain rises. Our cast of talented performers is ready to delight you. Every evening during your cruise promises a stellar array of entertainment choices. So, whether you’re in the mood for music, dance performances or even magic shows, prepare to settle into your seat. Watch the resident Royal Court Singers & Dancers stage dazzling Broadway style productions or abridged Shakespeare performances. We’ve also hand-picked a talented line-up of vocalists and instrumentalists, aerial performers and illusionists, stand-up comedians, and variety entertainers.
Your table is reserved for breakfast, lunch and dinner in one of the sophisticated main restaurants aboard. Each is the home of deliciously imaginative menus, exceptional wines and impeccable service. This evening you may start with such delicacies as Salmon Gravlax with Poached Quail’s Egg or a Croquette of Suckling Pig. For your entrée, you might be in the mood for Dover Sole Meunière or a Chateaubriand, perhaps rounded off with a rich Bitter Chocolate Soufflé or a lighter Mango Panna Cotta.
If anything perfectly encapsulates Cunard’s service and sense of occasion, it is our prized daily ritual: Afternoon Tea served by white-gloved waiters from 3:30 to 4:30 pm every day in the Queens Room. Indulgent finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries accompany Twinings fine leaf teas as the orchestra provides a melodic backdrop. Our Grill guests may also retreat to the more intimate Princess Grill restaurant, while a more casual interpretation awaits in the Lido or King’s Court.
